About tool

MB to KB Converter helps you shrink an image file to a specific KB limit (for example 20, 50, 100, 200, or any number you enter) so it fits strict upload requirements.

Choose a JPG, PNG, or WebP photo (up to 20 at a time) and set the target KB. Compression runs entirely inside your browser, so your files never leave your device and nothing is stored on a server. After compressing, you get a result card with before/after previews and an exact byte count, including both decimal KB and binary KiB.

For strict targets, the tool uses a ceiling based on bytes (KB × 1000 in strict mode). If quality settings can’t reach the requested size, it will reduce pixel size within safe limits, and will prompt you to raise the target if even that isn’t enough.

How do I get a photo under a specific KB limit (like 50 KB)?

Select your image, enter the target KB number, and run the compression. Use the result card’s byte count to confirm the file is at or under your form’s limit.

Is 1 MB equal to 1000 KB or 1024 KB?

It depends on the system. Decimal KB uses ×1000, while binary KiB uses ×1024. The converter shows both so you can match the way your form counts.

Will my photo be uploaded anywhere during compression?

No. Compression happens inside your browser on your device. Files aren’t uploaded to a server and nothing is stored.

Why might a form still reject my compressed photo?

Some forms also check pixel dimensions, file format, and minimum file size—not just KB. If the upload is scanned and multi-page, compress the PDF instead of saving pages as separate photos.

Why does my compressed photo look blurry?

Blurriness usually comes from heavy compression needed to hit a small KB target. Try a higher allowed KB value (if your form permits) or confirm the required pixel size and aspect settings.

Can I compress multiple photos at once?

Yes. You can drop up to 20 photos and then download all results together as a ZIP.
