Notion Backups automates backups for your Notion workspaces on a consistent schedule, so you don’t have to rely on manual exports or fragile scripts. Backups are saved in both Markdown and JSON, helping keep your data portable and structured.
You can back up the full workspace coverage, including nested pages, databases, comments, and media files. Storage is under your control: connect your preferred provider such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, or an SFTP server, and backups are stored there (not on your provider’s behalf).
When you need to recover, restore your workspace to a specific point in time with a few clicks. Backup rotation can automatically delete older backups to save space, and Google Sheets Sync lets you sync Notion databases to Google Sheets with one-way or two-way syncing (depending on your plan).
What can I back up from my Notion workspace?
You can back up pages (including child pages), databases, media files, and comments, covering nested workspace structure.
Where are my backups stored?
You choose by connecting at least one storage provider: Google Drive, Dropbox, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, or an SFTP server. The service doesn’t store your data on your behalf.

What gets restored during a restore?
Restores include pages, databases, supported blocks, unresolved comments, and externally-hosted media files. A complete restore isn’t possible due to Notion API limitations.
Does restoring overwrite existing content?
On the Starter plan, restores target the same workspace without overwriting existing content. On the Pro plan, restores can target a different workspace or the workspace root.
