One Wish Willow

One Wish Willow is an immersive, browser-based interactive story centered on a mysterious willow branch. Drag to inspect the package, unseal the sleeve to reveal the willow, write or speak one wish, then break the willow to discover the shadow left by what you asked for.

This experience is designed like a dark fable: your wish is “heard” in the story, but it doesn’t function as fortune-telling or a real-world fulfillment service. Outcomes are fictional entertainment intended for reflection on desire, tradeoffs, and the way choices close off other possibilities.

The ritual works with a modern browser (WebGL). Voice is optional—speech recognition only helps turn spoken words into input, while you can always type your wish. After the break, the experience can generate unique fictional results and also offers two follow-up paths: a literal wish receipt with an unintended twist, or a seven-question Dangerous Wish Test to explore what wish you might actually make.

Is One Wish Willow fortune-telling or a real wish-fulfillment service?

What do I do during the ritual?

Yes. The primary interactions work with mouse, touchscreen, or phone, as long as you use a modern browser with WebGL.

Do I need to enable microphone access for voice input?

No. Speech recognition is optional; denying permission still lets you complete the full flow by typing your wish.

Will my wish be made public?

The experience uses your input to generate fictional entertainment, but you should avoid sharing private information since results shouldn’t be relied on for important real-world decisions.

Why does the willow need to be broken in the story?

In the story logic, an unbroken branch can only listen, while breaking it delivers the wish—turning a changeable sentence into a choice with a fictional consequence.
